Course Objective
The course should be designed to give adequate training to the applicant in theoretical
knowledge instruction, flight instruction, and synthetic flight instruction to instruct for any multi-pilot
aeroplane type rating for which the applicant is qualified.
The course aims to train pilots for TRI (restricted) or SFI qualification endorsement. This
training program complies with the TCAR Part FCL (including AMC and GM)
This should include the following:
1. Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to teach the whole simulator element of the
approved A320 Type Rating course (including multi-crew cooperation).
2. Consolidate instructor skills:
a) Briefing skills (visual, verbal).
b) Performance analysis, including CRM and corrections.
c) Debriefing (use of facilitative and directive methods).
d) Writing training reports.
3. Become fully conversant with the operation of the simulator.
4. Become fully conversant with the relevant FSTD simulator approval requirements (including
Technical Log).
5. Develop flight safety awareness and attitudes throughout, and where necessary, candidate
maturity and judgment in their understanding of adults, behavioral attitudes, and variable
levels of learning ability.
The expected learning outcome is that the candidate will be able to:
− Conduct A320 type rating/conversion/differences/recurrent courses to a proficient
standard
− Conduct Zero Flight Time Training to a proficient standard (Optional)
− Effectively brief and debrief the pilot trainees.
− Write accurate training reports and handover notes.
− Operate the Full Flight Simulators in all their training functions.
